The Somerset Cider Brandy Company revived English apple distilling from the 1980s, aging cider brandy 3 to 20 years and reviving the Somerset Pomona. A newer generation — Capreolus in Cirencester, Fowey Valley in Cornwall, Greensand Ridge in Kent, Tayport in Scotland — now makes fruit eaux-de-vie that rival the Continent's best.
